Our company has set up an independent research center (hereinafter called “R&D center”), which serves as an important platform for organizing and carrying out technical studies. The R&D center is responsible not only for the independent development of new products, new process, new technologies and new devices, but also for the formulation of national and industry standards. Meanwhile, it is involved in the cooperation with specialized institutions and relevant technical and talent training. There are more than 70 professionals working in the R&D center, who come from different fields such as high voltage insulation, inorganic nonmetal, mechatronics, electrical engineering, machinery, etc. In addition, the R&D center is divided into more than 10 sections such as Technical Committee of Experts, Technical Information Laboratory, Material Laboratory, Structure Laboratory, Process Laboratory, Equipment Laboratory, Pilot-Plant Test Base, Major Laboratory, etc. In these laboratories, there are more than 350 sets of equipment worth CNY25 million in total and the equipment is used for material preparation, physical and chemical analysis, sample preparation and pilot plant test. Also, a number of tests, for instance, mechanical, aging, weathering and electrical tests are carried out in the laboratories with the help of this equipment. Besides, this platform operates independently and a fund is earmarked for its operation only. Research and Development Institute Management Code and Performance Appraisal for Research Personnel are applied accordingly, which reflects the superiority of this R&D center.

Our company has gained rich experience through its long-term development. Our products have won the honor of National Key New Product for several times and dozens of our products have won the awards for high quality or scientific and technological advancement at both provincial and municipal levels. Over the past decade, 22 types of our products have been identified as Provincial High-Tech Products; two effective invention patents and ten effective & practical innovation patents have been obtained. During the same period, our company has presided over the formulation of one national recommended standard and participated in the formulation of 12 national recommended standards and 4 industry recommended standards. Our rich experience in wet process of porcelain insulators manufacture and isostatic pressing of dry process and technological advantages in high-tech, proprietary intellectual property rights and standards are key factors that make the public market accessible to us. Since we have mastered the structure technology and mass production technology of our five leading products: suspension disc porcelain insulator, line post porcelain insulator, long rod porcelain insulator, OCS porcelain insulator and station post porcelain insulator (all kinds of specifications), more opportunities can be seized to meet various market demands. In September 2015, eight types of 760kN, 840kN AC/DC suspension disc porcelain insulators passed the appraisal, which makes our company the first one to complete the development of 840kN suspension disc porcelain insulator in China. This achievement provides guarantee for the development of UHV grid and is expected to be our company’s core competence during the period of the 13th Five-Year Plan.
